Provide Resources to the Community
Join the B5 Committee
The B5 Committee is just one small part of this community initiative. The committee gathers resources and helps link community partners and stakeholders together. By acting as a coordinating body, the B5 Committee creates a bridge of opportunity for the wider community of Bladensburg.
The committee meets every other Wednesday of the month between 11am-12pm at Bladensburg Town Hall. If you are interested in becoming a member, please fill out the following form here.
Become a Block Captain
Block Captains are community leaders in our area. They are neighbors whose names we know and who are outside making an effort to share and connect.
Our block captain approach is at the heart of our effort. We aim to train and equip our block captains with the resources they need so that they can help inspire, educate, and empower their immediate neighbors.
Are you a resident of Bladensburg and want to help your own block by providing backyard potlucks/informational sessions while guiding your neighbors to a wealth of home improvement resources? Sign up to be a block captain here.
Do you have service hours that you need to complete? Are you constantly picking up litter in your neighborhood or nearby stream and would like to be involved in a greater effort?
The B5 Committee is actively seeking residents who are interested in canvassing the streets to pick up litter, assist in stream cleanup activities, and help support us at occasional events and resource fairs. If you are interested in acting as an occasional volunteer please fill out our volunteer inquiry form here.
Do you have material, informational, or financial resources available that will help us build a better Bladensburg? We want to know about it!
The B5 Committee is interested in seeking out resources that will have a direct benefit to home improvement, environmental and community health, affordable energy upgrades and cost-savings, business corridor improvement, litter prevention, and enhancing arts & cultural opportunities in our area.
Whether it is providing a training to our block captains, hosting an information table at an upcoming resource fair, implementing a grassroots arts movement, or providing monetary grant or rebate assistance, fill out the following form here, and we'll be in touch!
